Margaret Cooney leads Octopus Energy in New Zealand, an electricity retailer, it is recognised as a global energy innovator and one of Time Magazine's 100 most innovative companies. Prior to joining Octopus, Margaret worked in executive roles across strategy, regulatory affairs, and operations in the electricity industry. This includes setting up and later leading the Powershop business. Margaret has also been a member of a number of ministerial and regulatory advisory groups related to electricity and consumer data rights.
